There is no "ECan In Exile" ... but there is a branding- and politically-derivative ECan In Exile wordpress blogsite of that name; author and corporate identity/s unknown, perhaps making themselves liable for copyright infringement prosecution. - "ECan" is the widely used and accepted abbreviation for Environment Canterbury - a trading name of the Canterbury Regional Council (CRC). An established ECan therefore exists, and has never had reason to become "in exile" or other than an actual corporate institute of known quantity. - However a "Canterbury regional council in exile" (adjective noun) also continues, mainly in prophetic mode: live and learn. - Imitation is sincere flattery but "ecaninexile" needs to break the ECon dependencies, in order to change it: thank you. |
- Whereas the Canterbury regional council in exile has been established, through public consultation on 30Apr10, in response to which an "ecaninexile" self-proclaimed "organisation" has attempted to unilaterally force some ill-defined modes of operation onto it - N.B. CRC "Council in exile" media release scoop 28Apr10 + CTV report 30Apr10. - "Ecaninexile" freedom of action was nonetheless empowered, as an example, by public resolution outside ECan in Christchurch on 30Apr10: 13/14 of the elected CRC representation did not attend or act to countermand anything. - By corporate seizure, on 1 May 2010, Environment Canterbury ECan became non-'regulatory' developers' agent ECon.
