Saturday, December 17th, 2005 - responding to the murder of Christchurch prostitutes. We all know it can't go on, Man's inhumanity to.. Everywoman and every man. Brutality, thuggery, violence, invasion, rape and pillage, theft and murder.. capitalism, for want of a clearer expression. It is simply not good enough. We are far, far better than that. Materialism and the cult of the individual have conquered the age of faith. Nothing illustrates this more starkly than Christmas-time, immediately surpassed by Boxing Day sales. Obesity of the collective mind. Flabby indifference to consequence. There is no love. Iraq, Iran, and Syria will not be 'fixed' by force-feeding those states this (lack of) culture. Instead, as everywhere, we Westerners are fuelling everyone's destruction. Unthinking ignorance and bloat. Manipulation by fear. Bloody and decadent in the extreme. Terror owns itself. We once knew how to love. But it has always been constrained, within the limits of our own family, alliances, nation, and race. Hypocrisy, contradiction and deceit is the thorough nature of Western culture, and it cannot last. Even though it leads the world. No system on earth has satisfied more people, more quickly, than industrial capitalism. It has been beautifully progressive on the surface, liberating of feudal oppression. But it is that system too, written harder, larger, faster. Which is why capitalism (super-feudalism), and its anti-science hierarchies of obfuscation, must go - eventually, all impediments to human growth fall. Our job is to start. To turn the wheel. To open the floodgates. To awaken consciousness among our fellow beings. To facilitate change. Change is inevitable. But we are, for the first time, in a position to choose it collectively. We can change as one, and into one - one organic, social being. The ultimate binary choice. Unity or oblivion. This is 'the end of history', while actually a new beginning: the Omega and the Alpha. No earlier period has held such full potential for harmony and unity of human purpose. The communications revolution caps the industrial revolution, and has its secondary effect, of bringing to completion all the stalled revolutions of the past. Most particularly the Christian, American, scientific, and workers' democratic revolutions. We stand at the dawn of a new age: the 'kingdom of heaven' and prosperity for all. It is hailing us here and now. Our call to the money-changers in the temple of good is 'clear the way', your time is over. Sadly, 'idiot George Bush' and his equally impaired advisors need to wake up to the fact that empires defended by force lose all support. The next wave of capitalist tsunami is building across the Pacific against them, which identifiers with the system can never control. This is no slight on Americans, who are worried and ashamed at what a dictatorial minority of their population have elected for us all. There is no substitute for liberal education, and the US is paying the price of devaluing it. To most of the world, Bush has made the country look like a very sick and venal joke, from which recovery will be equally painful. |
Bullrig Bush merits scant respect, for the civilian and military lives he sacrilegiously wastes to line fellow investors' pockets. An international, collective solution will work where the UK/US gunboat diplomacy fails. Let us start building one urgently. The means of finished democratic realisation are fully apparent. The same mechanism by which capitalism sustained its elites will become that by which all is democratised: company shares. Whether donated now by moral revelation, or when made ostensibly worthless during the coming market crash, these shares can transform the world for good of all. With output's ownership vested in a social super-corporation, distribution of product for need rather than for profit will lift global society from the base up. Owned equally by all the world's population, this corporation will absorb every other corporation and deliver the assets back to every producer. Administration will pass to the new ascetics, without property right, and gone will be the gross management salaries robbing today's poor. People will be valued for what they don't have, in these principled ethics - the world turns upside down. The super-corporation's work begins building water supplies, schools, and hospitals in the undeveloped world. To secure the lives in central Africa and maintain this stability, systematic demolition of the arms, gold and diamond trades will be implemented to remove their cause of war. Life will gain the highest respect, precious minerals will stay beneath a cherished Earth, and the highest crime will be perpetuation of abstracted capitalist values. Similarly, the new work in the West will be transforming the economy to stay-home community-building, making redundant the financial service sector and the entire value, legal, and religious system on which it is based. The official work week will reduce to three days, and differentiation between work and leisure will dissolve as people gain more choice of fulfilling occupations. Increased leisure will become opportunity for more recreative productivity. Antisocial code-breakers will lose this freedom though, for as long as necessary, to full-time retraining within a pervasive, individual buddy rotation. Offense using a motor vehicle automatically revokes all driving rights, until conscience has provenly been learned. The penal system can be scrapped in favour of targetted education. This restructuring offers an overall direction towards reduction of petroleum demand. That is the chief means for de-escalating the Middle East conflict and momentum towards global war. The model we show to developing states will secure the high level of cooperation, currently impossible, to forestall all manner of crises. The end-point of evolution involves supersession of the nation-state, and elimination of national and territorial boundaries. An wholistic intersection with climate change, and its underlying resource depletion, is the one alternative we have to unbridled, violent competition between national and super-national entities, within all regions. Let there be peace. [Free ideas give the clearest sense of what it means to be free; enjoy.] |
